The “Art Decoratifs” movement started in Paris in the 1920s.By the 1930s, when this stylish cabinet was made, Art Deco was firmly established and instantly recognisable by its iconic sharp lines and angles.
This ‘naked’ cocktail cabinet, much like its stunningly restored sister now in her forever home, pays tribute to those quintessential design roots and can be designed to order.
The beautiful walnut veneer features a natural chevron pattern, not dissimilar to the geometric design of the original cabinet and is the perfect complement to the elegant Queen Anne legs
The top opens to reveal a beautiful display area for your favourite spirits, with the original cocktail pins happily intact and in full working order.
Open the top drawer with its glass top to create an additional drinks preparation area and look down into the contents below. This clever combination gives you maximum work surface to hone your mixology skills, whilst providing storage for your cocktail accessories.
The “Bees Knees” cocktail inspired the colour palette used to restore the original cabinet. It was a popular party cocktail of the era, and made with Gin, lemon juice and honey. The honey, no doubt, added to sweeten and mask the strength of what was probably bathtub gin, and therefore nowhere near as refined as the gins we know today.
If you love the wrap-around forest green, gold, and teal geometric design of the original cabinet, we can use that as a starting point for your design. We can carry it through to the interior, making it as beautiful inside as it is striking outside.
